Fellow residents of Hopkinton, RI, we must speak out against development that threatens our rural community. The State has cancelled its plan for a Transit Hub, but we must maintain our resolve against other bad-for-Hopkinton projects.
Why? Because it’s cheaper to clear cut trees than install solar on rooftops, old landfills, or over parking lots.
Solar power and other green energy sources are a critical part of our future, but so are our forests and our open space. The way forward is sensible development that incorporates solar into existing uses — not the wanton destruction of our forests.
Keep Hopkinton Country! Say no to spot zoning and industrial solar sprawl. You can make a difference. Sign the petition to tell Town Council to stop cutting down our trees.
